Welcome to 61 Front Street! We’re all about keeping your furry friends happy, healthy, and looking their best. To make sure everything runs smoothly, here are our updated terms and conditions.
1. Your Pet’s Health & Welfare
While your pet is with us, their health and welfare are our top priorities. We’ll always groom them in a way that’s comfortable for them. If they show fear or anxiety during any part of the process, we’ll adjust our approach to keep them feeling safe and relaxed.
Sometimes, we may notice a pre-existing condition you weren’t aware of. If this happens, we’ll let you know so you can seek veterinary advice if needed.
Although rare, accidents can happen during grooming. If we believe urgent veterinary care is necessary, you authorise us to seek treatment for your pet.
2. Grooming Feedback & Adjustments
We love chatting about your pet’s groom! After each appointment, we’ll provide detailed feedback. If you have any questions or concerns, just ask-we’re happy to explain anything about the process or give coat maintenance tips.
If you’d like any tweaks to your pet’s trim, reasonable adjustments will be made either immediately or at your next appointment.
3. Fleas & Ticks
We maintain a flea- and tick-free salon to ensure a clean and safe space for all pets. If your dog has fleas or ticks, please reschedule your appointment until after they’ve been treated. We require at least 48 hours’ notice to avoid a cancellation fee.
· If we discover fleas during a groom, we will use a flea shampoo and deep-clean the salon. A £10 charge will apply.
· If ticks are found, removal will incur a £5 charge. We are not responsible for any issues arising from ticks or their removal.
We recommend speaking with your vet about the best flea and tick prevention options for your pet.
4. Coat Condition
At 61 Front Street, we always put humanity over vanity. If your dog’s coat is severely matted, we may need to clip it short instead of attempting a painful de-matting process. This is in line with The Animal Welfare Act 2006, which prevents unnecessary suffering.
We will always try to inform you before proceeding, but if we can’t reach you, we will act in your pet’s best interest. By agreeing to these terms and conditions you are expressly agreeing to following dematting disclaimer:
5. De-Matting Disclaimer
If your dog’s coat has more than 15 minutes’ worth of matting, we are legally required to clip it short or refer you to a vet for the same.
Matted coats can hide sores, irritation, or skin infections, which may become visible after shaving. The process can also cause mild skin irritation. If you have any concerns, please consult your vet.
Additional fees may apply due to:
· Extra time needed to remove matting
· Wear and tear on equipment
· Special products required
We’re happy to show you how to properly brush your dog and suggest a grooming routine to help maintain their coat and achieve your desired style.
6. Behavioural Considerations
a. Aggressive Dogs
If your dog has a history of aggression towards people or other animals, you must let us know. This includes any warnings or notes from previous groomers.
b. Nervous/Anxious Dogs
We welcome nervous dogs and will do our best to make them comfortable. Please inform us of any anxiety-related behaviours so we can tailor our approach.
If your dog bites or behaves aggressively, you will be responsible for any medical bills, loss of earnings, or equipment damage. We reserve the right to stop a groom if we believe it is unsafe to continue. If a session is halted due to behaviour, the full grooming fee will still apply.
To help keep our salon clean, please ensure your dog has been to the toilet before their appointment.
7. Timekeeping
We work on a strict schedule to give each pet the time and attention they deserve, all appointments are booked based on a one to one service.
Arrivals:
Please arrive at your scheduled time. If you’re early, we may not be able to admit you right away.
Late arrivals:
If you’re more than 15 minutes late, we may have to refuse your groom on welfare grounds as rushing the groom may lead to unnecessary stress and possible injury.
Late collections:
If you collect your pet more than 30 minutes late, a late collection charge will apply.
8. Pricing
All prices are estimates and will be confirmed during your consultation. Extra charges may apply for:
Unkept or matted coats
· Aggressive behaviour
· Fleas and/or ticks
· Additional handling requirements
9. Cancellations
We require 48 hours’ notice for cancellations. If you cancel with less notice, the full grooming charge will apply and must be paid before rebooking.
10. GDPR Statement
We take your privacy seriously. To provide our services, we collect and store a limited amount of personal data. Your information is kept secure, never shared with third parties, and only used for grooming-related purposes. You may request access to your stored information at any time by contacting sharon@61frontstreet.co.uk.
